Edit, duplicate, void or delete an invoice
Edit drafts and unpaid invoices from the invoice's … menu; delete drafts, and void a sent invoice (owners and admins) when the customer no longer owes it.
What you can do with an invoice depends on where it is: draft, sent, partly paid, paid or void.
Edit
- Drafts: tap Edit, make your changes and save.
- Sent or partly paid: use the … menu, then Edit. You can't lower the total below what's already been paid.
- Paid or void: these can't be edited.
The invoice number stays the same when you edit.
Duplicate
In the … menu, tap Duplicate. You get a new draft with the same lines, dated today. Handy for a customer you bill the same way each time. For bills that repeat on a schedule, use recurring billing instead.
Delete a draft
In the … menu, tap Delete draft. Any time, expenses or trips on it become available to bill again. Sent invoices can't be deleted, because your records need them.
Void a sent invoice
Void an invoice when the customer no longer owes it, for example if the work was cancelled.
- Step 1: Open the invoice.
- Step 2: Tap …, then Void invoice, and confirm.
The customer won't owe anything on it, and its billed time and costs can be billed again. Voiding can't be undone. Only owners and admins can void, and only invoices without payments. If there's a payment, remove it first.
