A photo or file won't upload
Check your connection, the file size (receipts up to 10 MB, statements and Move files 15 MB, logos 2 MB, recordings 300 MB) and the file type, then try again.
Most upload problems come down to the connection, the file's size or its type.
Check the connection
Uploads go straight from your phone or computer to secure storage. On a weak signal they can stall. If you see "Couldn't upload the file. Check your connection and try again", move to better Wi-Fi or signal and try again. Very slow uploads stop with a message instead of spinning forever.
Check the size
- Receipts (photos or PDFs): up to 10 MB each
- Bank and card statements: up to 15 MB
- Move to Tallibook files: up to 15 MB each, and up to 10,000 rows
- Saved emails (.eml) in bulk upload: up to 25 MB
- Your logo: up to 2 MB
- Meeting recordings: up to 300 MB
Phone photos taken in Tallibook are shrunk before they upload, so they're rarely too big. For a big PDF, save just the pages you need.
Check the type
- Receipts: photos (JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC) or PDFs.
- Statements: CSV, Excel (.xlsx), OFX, QFX, QBO or PDF.
- Move to Tallibook: CSV, Excel (.xlsx), vCard or PDF. Old Excel files (.xls) need saving as .xlsx or CSV first.
- Logo: PNG or JPG.
- Recordings: M4A, MP3, WAV and other common audio files.
We also check what's inside a file, so a file renamed to look like a PDF won't upload.
Read-only books
If your trial has ended and you haven't chosen a plan, you can't upload new files. See Why can't I change this?
Still not working?
Try another browser, or update the one you have. If it still fails, email hello@tallibook.com with what you were uploading, the file type and size, and the message you saw.
